Sex differences in lipid profile across the life span in patients with type 2 diabetes: A primary care-based study

In a population with type 2 diabetes, women have higher cholesterol levels after menopause than men and younger men have higher triglyceride levels than younger women. Sex, age, and menopausal status should be considered when deciding for lipid lowering treatment in patients with diabetes.
