Development of radiopharmaceuticals to measure P-gp at the BBB using PET. The development of these radiopharmaceuticals provides unique opportunities to studying P-gp functionality in the living brain. The generated in vivo data create more insight in the aetiology of brain disorders and in the physiology of the human brain.

Special interest in the development and application of radiopharmaceuticals for PET imaging of inflammation and hormone receptors. Current research projec​ts include imaging of amongst others: 1) immune cell activation and migration, 2) inflammation and related events in psychiatric and neurodegenerative disorders. 3) the gut-immune-brain interaction, 4) treatment-induced immune response in tumors and 5) steroid hormone receptor expression in tumors and the brain.  ​​​​​​​​​
