40 scholarships are available for the USA

Human Frontier Science Programme

For novel collaborations involving extensive collaboration among teams of scientists working in different countries and in different disciplines.
Two types of grants are available: Young Investigator Grants and Program Grants.

International cancer fellowships (UICC)

For cancer researchers, clinicians, and public health professionals.

International Retinal Research Foundation (IRRF)

Supports scientific research on the diseases of the human eye, especially its center, the macula, and peripheral retinal research that ultimately will accelerate the outcome of discovery. Specific consideration will be given to those scientists who are actively working toward discovering the causes, preventions, and cures of macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. Limited funding is available for postdoctoral training in the area of vision research and for educational and scientific exchange.

LAM Foundation

For the study of smooth muscle proliferation and cystic lung destruction that occurs in the lymphangioleiomyomatosis. Post Doctoral Fellowships, Established Investigator Awards, and Pilot Project Awards.


National Brain Tumor Society

Funding for brain tumor related research.

Research Networking Programmes (ESF)

Networking activity bringing together nationally funded research activities for four to five years, to address a major scientific issue or a science-driven topic of research infrastructure, at the European level with the aim of advancing the frontiers of science. Multi-, inter- or trans- disciplinary proposals and proposals with a global dimension which intend to create links to networks of scientists in non-ESF Member Organisation countries are encouraged.
