Young researchers from GRIAC successful at the annual conference of the European Respiratory Society

​​​Three young researchers of GRIAC were awarded at the annual conference of the European Respiratory Society (ERS) in London. They received prizes and grants for their achievements in scientifical research.

Wouter van Geffen from the Pulmonology department received the 2016 Young Researcher Grant for his work on respiratory infection aetiological diagnosis. The grant is supported by Brahms/ThermoFisher. In addition, he received an ERS Short-Term Fellowship to acquire new insights into pulmonary physiology at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London.

Loes Kistemaker from the Molecular Pharmacology department was awarded the best young investigator abstract award of assembly 5 (Inflammatory Airways Diseases and Clinical Allergy) for her abstract entitled “The PDE4 inhibitor CHF-6001 and LAMAs cooperatively inhibit bronchoconstriction-induced remodeling in lung slices”.

Marieke Duiverman from the Respiratory Insufficiency group within the department of Pulmonology received the 2016 Grant for best abstract in noninvasive ventilatory support supported by Breas Medical for her abstract "Surface respiratory EMG during different settings of noninvasive ventilation in stable COPD".​
