Travel award for best oral abstract ISAF-EAACI

Marlies Ketelaar, MD PhD student at the department of Pediatric Pulmonology & Allergology  and Medical Biology (supervisors Prof. Gerard Koppelman and Dr. Martijn Nawijn), received a Travel Grant for best oral abstract at the International Severe Asthma Forum 2016 (ISAF) organized by the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology from 17-19 of November 2016 in Manchester (UK). Her abstract was entitled: Serum IL-1RL1-A Levels Predict An Eosinophilic Subtype Of Asthma In Preschool Wheezing Children.


Ubbo Emmius Fonds:

Marlies Ketelaar, MD PhD student at the department of Pediatric Pulmonology & Allergology  and Medical Biology (supervisors Prof. Gerard Koppelman and Dr. Martijn Nawijn) received a Talent Grant from the Ubbo Emmius-Junior Scientific Masterclass (UEF-JSM Talent Grant, University of Groningen). This grant comprises €8000  and is awarded to talented MD –PhD students to allow additional research during their PhD.  The additional bench fee allows her to perform research towards the role of the IL33 pathway in lung epithelium and asthma development.  Marlies received the award on 15 Nov. 2016  at the University of Groningen ERIBA building.
