The Spinoza Prize is awarded by the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) and is the highest Dutch award in science. NWO awards the prize to Dutch researchers who rank among the absolute top of science. The scientists receive the prestigious prize for their outstanding, ground-breaking and inspiring research. The winners are internationally renowned scientists and know how to motivate young researchers. The Spinoza Prize is 2.5 million euro, which the awardees can spend on research of their choice.
